Ardor Guerrero
Published in Paperback by Vintage Books (01 October, 1995)
Authors: Antonio Munoz Molina, Antonio Munoz Molina, Antonio Muunoz Molina, and Molina A. Munoz
Average review score:

Even if you did not made the compulsory military service...
...you will stick to this book. It can be also read like a horror book, much better than those by Stephen King, since this has been REAL. I ASOLUTELY love Antonio Muñoz Molina, and I recommend each book he has written.

Much more than a simple anti-militarist book
Every one who has ever been to a military camp should read this book in order to not forgetting all the suffering and the bad experience there. The books talks about all these things that you think you have already forgotten, but they are still inside you. Unfortunately, thousands of guys in Spain have the terrible duty of serving their country as a soldier, while their life is broken for about one year, when they have to forget what they are, and accept the orders of other men who,too very often, take adventage of their power. I also want to recomend the other books of Antonio Muñoz Molina, who, in my opinion, is one of the most talented writers in spanish language.

Dulces Guerreros Cubanos
Published in Paperback by Planeta Pub Corp (December, 2001)
Author: Norberto Fuentes
Average review score:

Dulces guerreros cubanos

Esquiar Con Los Pies
Published in Paperback by Libros En Red (June, 2001)
Author: Carlos Guerrero Castillo
Average review score:

Best Spanish Ski Book ever written
What to say about "Esquiar con los pies" -> "Skiing with the feet", just a nice tech reading for the long and sunny summer days.

Ski with your feet (obvious, but we use to forget it)
The book offers a simple method to improve your ski level focussing on your feet. It is inspired in the same methods that are using the best alpine skiing trainers all over the World, but for every body (not only for racers) and every ski level. This really works.

To Die on Your Feet: The Life, Times, and Writings of Praxedis G. Guerrero
Published in Hardcover by Texas Christian Univ Pr (November, 1996)
Authors: Ward S. Albro and Praxedis G. Selections Guerrero
Average review score:

The Incomparable Dr. Albro!
In his quest for beauty and truth, Dr. Albro is obsessive. He relishes the former while the latter smacks of Immanuel Kant. A winning combination. As one of his mentors, George Straight, once observed, all his exes live in Texas. A short-lived though magical experience.

Ward Albro rules!
Another fine example of this scholar's work in Mexico. Albro leaves no stone unturned.

Black Male: Representations of Masculinity in Contemporary American Art
Published in Paperback by Whitney Museum of Art (March, 1995)
Authors: Thelma Golden, Herman Gray, and Ed Guerrero
Average review score:

Brilliant book on art and the black man!
This collection of essays may have come from a particular exhibit or conference. It is a book that discusses black men's status as objects of art. Don't sleep! The art world is racist. Coco Fusco and bell hooks have effectively documented this. So this anthology is a very needed intervention. Articles cover topics such as gay black men in movies, the visual representation of gangsta rap, Mapplethorpe, etc. The contributors analyze numerous art mediums, not just painting or film. What I love about this book is how straight black men and gay black men are treated equally; a discussion of one does not marginalize the other. I especially love the article "The Gangsta and the Diva." This book is incredible!

El guerrero de la autopista

Average review score:

Freeway Fighter
This is one of my favourite Ian Livingston books,Freeway Fighter puts you in the role of a hero in a Mad Max post holocast setting, your mission is to leave you safe haven and journey out into the wastelands in search of petrol for your community.A nice touch in this book was the fact that you have vehicle and normal combat! This enables you to use the variety of armaments on your Dodge Interceptor including missiles, oil slicks and iron spikes.Another crucial part of the story is that you are on a constant search for fuel,if you run out of fuel for your vehicle the story is over!

El Guerrero Espiritual: El Arte De Vivir Con Espiritualidad
Published in Hardcover by Mandeville Press (October, 2002)
Author: John-Roger
Average review score:

Empowering and Practical Spirituality
It's more than just an Spiritual Book. It's a very practical guideline to LIVE BY. I have been keen reader of most of John-Roger's books, and this one sumarizes all the basic tools and guidelines that only through years of experience you could ever gather in a single life time. When reading his titles, I have always wonder what's next to experience, since each one of them has left me with a sense of wholeness that seems there is nothing more to search for, but then again, there always IS.

Chasing Shadows: Stories
Published in Paperback by Chronicle Books (June, 2000)
Author: Lucrecia Guerrero
Average review score:

Brava!
Re: The Kirkus Review. Lucrecia Guerrero paints portraits in miniature of small-town life. So did Sherwood Anderson in "Winesburg, Ohio." So why isn't Anderson dinged for "small" themes?

At any rate, Guerrero's interwoven collection of stories in the fictional border town of Mesquite (cut down the middle by a fence that separates the US side from the Mexican side) draws us in with simple, precise poetry and characters that continue to haunt the imagination long after reading about them. They are indeed chasing "shadows" -- of love, prosperity, identity, justice. Some of them find what they want, however fleetingly. But though there are grim moments in these stories, the overwhelming compassion and affection that Guerrero has for these people shines through. She knows them -- their voices, their houses, their clothes, their motives. And by the time I finished reading this book, I felt like I knew them, too -- and was the better for it.

Not Slightly Slight
The Kirkus reviewer takes a safe anonymous potshot at Guerrero's marvelous book. You'll note the same sort of drygulching of every Arizona-themed book in Kirkus; the same coward writes 'em all.

Lucrecia Guerrero is a wonderful writer; her prose is deceptively calm on the surface. Once you enter, you'll feel riptides if you pay attention. There is a periodic surge of genius in the Chicano/Latino literary world, and currently there are several very exciting talents emerging. Among them (Diana Garcia, Carl Marcum, Rich Yanez, Jose Skinner), Guerrero shines. She is clearly a formidable talent, one we will hear much from in the future. I'm already hungry for her novel.

Great Read
The characters were so believable, and I liked the way they kept popping up in other stories. It made the stories read like a novel. I'm waiting for Guerrero's next book.
